About the Opportunity

APPLIED Thermal Products Group is currently looking for a technical salesperson located in Eastern Iowa with a background in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines.  This position requires a commitment to solving customer problems and presenting yourself as a “solutions provider”.  You will be representing and working with the recognized industry leader of electric heat tracing in a well-established territory.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain strong relationships within the industry to grow sales. Educate and train end users and contractors
  • Responsible for prospecting, building a successful sales strategy to win business
  • Work with and build distribution channels
  • Interface effectively with key suppliers, decision makers, developers, contractors, and engineers
  • Partner with engineers and contractors to assist in execution of heat trace designs
  • Responsible for full cycle (from proposal to close) sales of construction services based on sales goals and quotas
  • Create ‘take-offs’ from drawings and line lists
  • Partner as a business resource to our customers
  • Manage project procurement, schedule, and commissioning

Requirements

  • Industrial sales experience preferred
  • Understanding of industrial construction, selling to engineers
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering and/or business focus discipline preferred
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of Rep/Distributor/Customer Relationship
  • Effectively build relationships with new customers as well as maintain existing accounts
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Travel within territory is required
