Opportunity Description:

APPLIED Adhesives requires an enthusiastic Communications Manager to lead our internal and external communications. Creating and developing distinct, compelling content to drive meaningful connections with our targeted audiences – customers, suppliers, business segments and team members.

We are looking for someone who is a Thought Leader, an effective Team Player and Digital Channel Expert. We seek someone who can bring together creativity and technology, in a fast-paced, ever changing growth environment, to communicate our message and evolving brand to our targeted industries.

The ideal candidate will lead the continuous development and execution of APPLIED’s Communication platform: Their driving purpose is to build out our brand, increase customer engagement, enable lead generation through content, making meaningful connections resulting in new business.  This role will also be responsible for a large portion of our digital platform including the website, internal/external communications, digital engagement, and e-commerce.

The applicant should have a proven track record of successful projects that increased employee engagement, attracted customers, empowered a company brand, and generated sales growth.

This position is remote based and reports to the Vice President of Marketing at APPLIED.


  • Responsible and accountable for supporting the creation and launch, alongside of the VP of Marketing, a company-wide Communications Strategy: including but not limited to content, messaging, tools, events, and digital channels.
    • Create and draft digital content, including partnering with our Digital Marketing Specialist, vendors, and creative agencies.
    • Build a digital dashboard to capture communications performance metrics: Website SEO data, events, eigital campaigns, leads, complaints etc.
    • Develop a strategic communications planning calendar for promotion and dissemination of corporate and marketing content.
    • Work cross-functionally to understand communication and engagement needs and projects.
    • Be a part of the APPLIED’s M&A Integration team, driving timely communications to all stakeholders.
    • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of communication initiatives and support the continuous, measurable improvement of activities through feedback surveys.
    • Ensure internal and external communications reflect a consistent design and tone, adhering to brand guidelines.
    • Manage Public Relations.
  • Develop, write, outsource, edit, and implement internal and external communications materials – advertisements, brochures, trade show venue and booth materials, marketing materials, presentations, etc. Insure the highest standards.
    • Develop high-quality presentation materials for presentations by Executive Team, Sales and others that reflect branding and positioning.
    • Perform communication consulting, change management initiatives, and proofreading of documents.

Skills and Experience:

  • Education Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, English, or similar field, MBA preferred.
  • Experience – Minimum 5 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Branding and Digital Marketing with a focus in strategic technical content development and execution in the Chemical Industry. Strong understanding of the latest digital and social media technology tools. Skills to best leverage tech for marketing programs as part of an overall social media business strategy: SEO improvement- keyword management, paid display etc.

  • Project Management – Highly organized with strong planning, facilitation, collaboration, and execution skills. Excellent project and time management skills. MS Project experience is preferred.
  • Interpersonal – Entrepreneurial acumen, ability to communicate at all levels within an organization, build and manage relationships. Proven experience & ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Communication – Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills and content judgement.
  • Strong computer skills, MS Office, Windows O/S, Adobe Creative Suite, and Social Media tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, WordPress, email campaign systems, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project), PARDOT (or similar marketing automation tool), and Salesforce (or similar CRM system).
