Branding & Communication Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Marketing

Scope & Purpose:

Applied Adhesives requires a talented Branding and Communications Manager to create distinct, compelling content and drive meaningful connections with our targeted audiences -customers, suppliers, business segments and associates.

We are looking for someone who is a Thought Leader, a Team Builder and Digital Channel Expert. We seek someone who can bring together creativity and technology to communicate our message and brand in our targeted industries.

The ideal candidate will lead development and execution of Applied’s digital marketing strategy: Their driving purpose is to build out our brand, increase customer engagement, generate leads, and convert leads into new business.  The role span will include a large portion of our digital platform including the website, our mobile application, product information management, digital advertising, and e-commerce.

The applicant should have a proven track record of producing outcomes that increase employee engagement, attract customers, empowers a company brand, and generate sales growth.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:


  • Responsible and accountable for creating and implementing a long term Applied Adhesives Brand Strategy.
    • Design and deploy a Persona driven branding strategy by Key Customer Industry Segments to develop deeper connection with our contacts… who decide if we win or lose in the marketplace.
    • Act as the brand’s spokesperson with all pertinent media relations. Formulate and implement public relations/media strategies.
    • Be the strongest external advocate- and internal teacher.
  • Understanding and command of CRM and Pardot campaign platform.
    • Ability to understand, manipulate and analyze ongoing data to derive insight and make recommendations.
  • Identify, assess, and deploy strategic 3rd party expertise. (I.E. creative partners)
  • Design, Manage and Optimize the operations for print, social media campaigns, and events.
    • Manage and provide tactical input and direction for how the brand is used; develop style guides, templates, standard operating procedures, and other tools.
    • Advise internal and external stakeholders on relevant/appropriate use of the brand.
    • Identify and assess non-strategic operations.
  • Monitor the delivery and “viability” of the brand via sales/customer service-Measure via NPS (net promoter score).


    • Responsible and Accountable for creating and launching a company-wide Communications Strategy; Content, Message, Tools, Events, Digital Channels.
      • Create and implement social media strategy, including partnering with digital vendors and creative agencies.
      • Build a Digital Dashboard to capture key branding/communications performance metrics: Website SEO data, Events, Digital Campaigns, Leads, complaints etc.
      • Develop strategic communications planning calendar for promotion and dissemination of corporate and marketing content.
      • Manage Public Relations.
    • Develop, write, outsource, and edit internal and external communications materials- advertisements, brochures, trade show venue and booth materials, marketing materials, presentations, etc. Insure the highest standards.
      • Develop high-quality presentation materials for presentations by Executive Team, Sales and others that reflect branding and positioning.
      • Build internal community based on company culture through internal social media (e.g. Salesforce, PARDOT, Yammer, SharePoint), newsletters, email, corporate announcements, and other programs and platforms.
      • Design/Manage internal newsletters, press releases and other ad hoc internal and external announcements.
    • Responsible for managing the Corporate Branding and Communications Budget.


  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Brand Marketing, Communications, or similar field, MBA preferred.
  • Experience – Minimum 6 years of experience in Branding, Corporate Communications, and Digital Marketing with a focus in strategic content development and execution. Strong knowledge in the latest digital and social media technology tools. –Skill to best leverage tech for marketing programs as part of an overall social media business strategy: SEO improvement- keyword management, Paid Display etc. certified preferred.

A “quick study” and “self-starter” – leads with a true sense of urgency…a forward thinker constantly focused on shaping the organization to meet and anticipate both near and long-term business issues.
  • Strategic Orientation – Proven ability to navigate complex multi-stakeholder opportunities and long sales cycles. Ability to create a Strategic Plan with requisite tactical initiatives and work plan.
  • Influential – Ability to influence at all levels of leadership. Ability to Lead cross-functional or ad hoc teams toward a defined outcome. A proactive and adaptive professional.
  • Project Management – Highly organized with strong planning, facilitation, collaboration, and execution skills. Excellent project and deadline management skills.
  • Interpersonal – Entrepreneurial acumen, Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization, build and manage relationship. Also, have a proven experience & ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Communication – Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills, MS Office, Windows O/S, Social Media
    • Strong working knowledge of HTML, Word Press, Email Campaign systems, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), PARDOT (or similar marketing automation tool), and Salesforce (or similar CRM system).
  • Expected Travel:  15-20%
